Who we are

Information we collect and why

• Searches (the text you type and, if you upload one, the photo): to show you results. Photos are not stored on our servers; they are sent to our image recognition provider (Google Cloud Vision) only to identify the product. We keep the search text, your IP address and an anonymous browser ID to enforce the free daily limit, prevent abuse and improve the service.
• Feedback: if you tap 👍 or 👎 under a result, we keep that vote and the reason you pick, linked to that search and your anonymous browser ID, to find and fix bad results.
• Voice searches: the recording is sent to our AI provider (api.groq.com) only to turn it into text and is not stored on our servers. The resulting text is kept like any other search.
• Account (only if you create one): your email, your password stored only as a secure hash, your daily search count, the conversations you choose to sync, your saved items and your price alerts.
• Price alert email: only if you create an alert, to tell you when the price drops or the product is no longer available, and to send a weekly summary. You can unsubscribe with one click from any email.
• Hunts (“keep looking for me”, only if you create one): your email, what you are looking for, your maximum price and deadline, and the offers we found for you. We use them only to keep searching and email you when something matches. Stop a hunt at any time from any email or from Hunts.
• Saved items: the products you save, linked to an anonymous browser ID (and to your account if you are logged in).
• Shared comparisons: when you press “Share”, we store the list of offers and your search text so the link works. Anyone with the link can open it; it contains no personal information about you.
• Clicks to stores: we record which store you visited and an anonymous browser ID for statistics. We add a random click number to affiliate links so the affiliate network can tell us whether a purchase happened and the commission; their reports include the order amount, not your name or email.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. We never ask for or store payment details: you pay in each store. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of sale or sharing, which we already do not do.

Service providers

We share only what is needed with: our website host; our AI model provider (api.groq.com); our image recognition provider (Google Cloud Vision), only if you search with a photo; our email service; the affiliate networks of the stores you click (the click number, store and date). When you click through to a store, that store and its affiliate network receive your visit under their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

• IP addresses and search details: anonymized after 6 months.
• Unconfirmed accounts: deleted after 30 days. Unconfirmed price alerts: deleted after 7 days. Finished alerts: deleted after 6 months.
• Finished or stopped hunts and what we found for them: deleted 90 days after they were created.
• Saved items without an account and shared comparison links: 1 year.
• Your account, its saved items and synced conversations: until you delete your account.

Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live (including California and other US states with privacy laws), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it and to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do not sell or share it).

• Download your data or delete your account at any time from Your data (log in first). Deleting your account also deletes your price alerts, saved items and synced conversations.
• Remove a single alert or all of them with the links in any of our emails.
• For anything else, email [email protected]. We answer within 45 days, verify requests through the email address on your account or alert, and will not discriminate against you for using your rights.

Children

Gevilens is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Security

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, limits against automated abuse and restricted access to our systems.
